About Earthing and the interview: In 2013

Echan introduced Earthing to the Japanese first by translating the book Earthing and introducing people to the idea through seminars and direct Earthing experiences outdoors and in parks.

After seven years he has communicated the message to Japanese so that now the word earthing is a part of the Japanese language and literally thousands of people have reported the positive effects on their lives.

His Barefoot Park Project has now gone from Hokkaido to Okinawa to encourage people to walk barefoot in the park, literally. As an extension of his mission to earth Japan he made a documentary film of his crossing Iceland twice barefoot at the age of 65 in 2017. It was then shown on national Icelandic TV in two parts this year 2020. His Japanese wife Sanae is now translating the Earth Prescription by Dr. Laura Koniver. He firmly believes that earthing is the most primal expression of grounded spiritual practice albeit almost totally ignored and forgotten by modern people and that there is now enough science done on the subject to suggest it may well be a panacea for the deterioration of human health. This has happened ever  since the insulation of bodies began by using rubber and plastic soles on shoes. This has completely cut us off from the earth.

Echan Deravy a.k.a. John Craig has spent most of his life in Japan where he writes, lectures and takes Japanese on global adventure/research trips. He has written and co-translated 40 Japanese language books on subjects as diverse as the Plasma universe, the Knights Templar, Rumi, Ecospirituality, Consciousness and altered states, Earthing and Ancient civilization.

He is also a remote viewer and has trained people in Japan, Canada and the UK in both English and Japanese. He has made two documentary films: Earth Pilgrims and Why on Earth. He has 180 full length lectures on his Japanese youtube channel Echan Juku . He also hosts an interview show Real Rover and in the West writes and lectures as the Japanthropologist. He co-created the Kakuichi Institute in Japan to provide an environment for East West discourse.
